I am a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Santa Monica. Whether you are here to learn about psychotherapy or are thinking about beginning the process, I hope that I can offer some information that is useful.  

Life experiences have a way of forcing us to look inward and to question who we truly are. When life invites us to look inward we can either face what we see or try to escape. I believe that there are many paths that we can take in order to face what we see, and psychotherapy is one of those paths.

In my experience, psychotherapy is a rich experience that leads to self discovery and self awareness. Deepening our level of self awareness helps us live fuller and more meaningful lives because it awakens us to our true self. The key to having a good therapeutic experience is in finding the right therapist and being properly informed about the therapeutic process. Each person is unique and has different needs. This is why I believe in a collaborative approach between therapist and patient, so patients can take an active role in their treatment.
